The BackBlast:

With thunder and heavy precipitation through the night, Gloom:30 was looking ominous.  Cheese Steak, Wham-O and YHC rolled up expecting a soggy experience under the pavilion, only to be surprised by a break in the rain and a semi-dry AO.  Filled with joy, the pax bounded into the lush soccer fields and beseeched YHC for a workout befitting the occasion (only slight dramatization for effect).

Warmup:

  • Side straddle hop
  • Mountain climbers
  • Peter Parker
  • Parker Peter
  • Little baby arm circles
  • Chinooks
  • Tempo squats
  • Pulse squats (#crowdpleaser)

The Thang:

Bear crawl / Crawl bear 11s

  • Coupon markers 15 yards apart
  • Merkins + Monkey Humpers (10:1 to 1:10)

Flowers (Bring Sally Up)

  • YHC gave the pax a choice between planks, squats and Merkins.  The pax chose Merkins (and then found out it was for Bring Sally Up).  Major crowdpleaser.

EMoM Circuit (12 min)

  • 3 burpees on the minute and rotate between:
    1. Lunges
    2. Curls
    3. Tricep extensions

Sweaty moleskin:
Everything done in secret will come out in the open eventually.

We talked about recurring struggles and our need for accountability and replacing self-destructive desires with stronger good desires.  The CoT is one of the safest spaces a man can unpack his deep struggles, and we can’t fight against lust, addiction, pride, or other vices alone.
