The BackBlast:

Conditions: To long sleeve or not to long sleeve, that is the question.

Today was an auspicious day in the short history of F3 Classic City, as four reg’lars and one unsuspecting FNG met at Veterans Park in Watkinsville to launch the first of many new AOs outside The Pound.  Nothing too crazy today, the goal was to scout out the AO, plant the shovel flag, and get the heart rate up.

Warmup:

Quick disclaimer and explanation for our FNG.

  • 15 x Windmills (IC)
  • 15 x Michael Phelps (IC)
  • 20 x High Knees (IC)
  • 15 x Merkins (IC)

Mosey to the memorial to grab the shovel flag and plant it near the park entrance, then some curb work.

  • 20 x Calf Raises (IC)
  • 30 x Rocky Balboas (OYO)

Mosey through the park to the back parking lot.  Flo, Con Air, and Folgers each called an exercise, then:

BLIMPS across parking lot
5 burpees
10 lunge each leg
15 imperial walker
20 merkins
25 plank jacks
30 squats

Rinse and repeat for about 50 yards.  When the only traveling is on the lunges and Imperial Walkers, it takes longer than you would think to make forward progress.

Mosey back to shovel flag for 3 Minutes of Mary:

  • 10 x WWI situps (IC)
  • 20 x Hello Dolly

Naked Moleskin

T-Claps to Flo for his enthusiasm and initiative in pushing for a mid-week workout in Watkinsville 4 weeks post-launch.  We threw around a few AO names during the workout, and PorkChop Hill stuck as a play on Hog Mountain Road where the park is located.  Flo already has some hilarious logo ideas spinning in his brain.

We named Folgers’ FNG Peches after the infamous roadside stand on 441 south of town.  There was discussion of possible CSAUP events (GoRuck, BRR, Palmetto 200, Ragnar, etc.) we can begin training for.

YHC laid down the challenge for Flo to take his Virgin Q next Tuesday, so you’ll want to come out for the occasion!
